Mountain flight training (MOU)
Mountain flight training qualifies you to land on official mountain landing sites and is required by the FOCA for off-field landing (i.e. outside airfields and heliports) with helicopters at over 1100 metres above sea level. The training is very demanding and the most difficult discipline in helicopter flying.
In the course of at least 200 landings, qualified instructors pass on their know-how and experience to trainees. Of these landings, 150 must take place on official mountain landing sites and 50 at a height of between 1100 and 2000 metres above sea level. The training requires at least 100 flight hours. We recommend our Robinson R44 for the course and, for landing sites above 2700 metres, the Eurocopter EC120 Colibri.
Night flight training (NIT)
Night flight training entitles you to undertake flights between sunset and dawn.
Apart from the theory content, you will have at least five flight hours, 30 landings and a 50-kilometre navigation flight. Private pilots are also required to complete ten hours of simulated instrument flight, five of which may be spent in the simulator. This qualification too requires 100 flight hours.
